OAK MEADOW

OAK MEADOW

A beautifully creative, Eco-meadow.

Oak Meadow is looking set to be a wonderful little Eco gem that we’re really excited about hosting! Creative, quirky and sustainable.

An ideal location within easy access of all the very best that Norfolk has on offer. Unspoiled sandy beaches (including the seal sanctuary at Horsey) are within easy access as well as the tranquility of the Norfolk Broads. The market town of Stalham is within a short drive or cycling distance and links with major routes to Wroxham, Norwich, Great Yarmouth and a whole host of Norfolk’s most beautiful destinations.

Big open skies, a beautiful meadow, sprawling trees and a thriving natural environment nestled amongst open fields is what you’ll find here. Karen and Reuben are doing a brilliant job of developing its biodiversity and the effect is not only a relaxing place to stay, its inspiring. We’re especially excited to see what his plans are for glamping because if they’re anything like the other things he does, they’ll be incredible.

Nearby Stalham offers a large supermarket, an excellent butchers and a few independent shops alongside a range of takeaways. Boat hire is available or from numerous other places dotted around the area.

An abundance of wonderful outdoor dining options are available in this corner of Norfolk and a great selection of farm shops offering excellent local produce if you enjoy cooking.

The coast road winds through picturesque farming and fishing villages to endless golden beaches and the delights of places such as Sheringham, Wells and Cromer which is world famous for its crabs. In the other direction, lies the mini kiss-me-quick of Norfolk, Hemsby. A vibrant, tiny thimblefull of seaside experience with a beautiful, huge sandy beach backed by rolling sand dunes. Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Southwold are further along and are all totally unique. You will easily find something to suit everyone.

Drive inland a little to find 2 of Norfolk’s Georgian market towns, Aylesham and Holt. The market towns of Acle and North Walsham are also only a few miles away. Stately homes such as Blickling and  Felbrigg (both surrounded by open parkland open to the public) are just two of many historical houses within comfortable driving distance.

All in all, we can’t recommend this site enough if you want a relaxed, easy going base from which to explore Norfolk.

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Thoroughbred Eco nurturers!

Karen and Reuben are absolutely lovely!

They’re working hard to get set up at the moment and environmental projects take time to get right. Reuben is an Eco-Living maestro, runs his own consultancy and a wonderful reclamation yard not far away at Sutton. You’ll see directions to Driftwood close by the site. He’s also appeared on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces a couple of times (Click above and here.) and has been invited by North Norfolk District Council to appear at environmental and sustainable shows and events.

Karen and Reuben are far more interested in wellbeing and the environment than commercial, concrete clad campsites so if you’re looking for a wonderful laid back experience, you’re going to love this!

ECO CREDENTIALS

Karen and Reuben are in the process of giving their meadow some much needed tlc at the moment and nature can not be rushed.

As well as dealing with the trees, land and access, they’re also looking into ways of offering some basic Eco-friendly facilities.

Watch this space, you’re going to absolutely love it……
