WHO ARE WE?

The Sanctuary Camping Club works at bringing people together to experience and enjoy outdoor living.

We support naturally simple camping grounds.

We promote environmental sensitivity and we just LOVE creative quirky!

PLEASE NOTE That we are currently only accepting applications from sites in East Anglia.

You don’t have to be an Eco Warrior, but we ask you to be aware and try in whatever ways you can.

Our natural environment is incredible!

We offer you opportunities to spend a little time immersed in it. It’s a great way to encourage understanding and appreciation.

It’s clever stuff that has an important place for everyone and every living thing.

Our health and well being depend on it.

We’re trying to make it as simple as possible for you to either find or offer a place to relax and unwind. Somewhere to reconnect with nature and with each other and remember what’s truly important.

It’s all about enjoying being who you are and loving what you do.

It’s about being kind to each other and just caring….

WHAT WE ENCOURAGE

Camp sites pop up in a whole variety of ways. We think that by encouraging, helping and supporting them, they can develop into a means of enhancing the environment, promoting well being and become beautiful, educational pockets of repair. Recreation with a real purpose!

We definitely encourage a creative approach and we’re very good at quirky! Recycle, up-cycle, re-invent, anything to support a carbon neutral footprint whilst still providing facilities with a unique twist.

We can help reintroduce wild flowers, grasses and trees and we even have our own lovely biodiversity consultant.

We try to encourage our sites to grow things like fresh herbs for campers to use, fruit trees and even simple salad vegetables……. we’ll keep on trying to make sure you have the most wonderful experience possible.

Our little campers are especially important. This is about their future. We feel that things like mud kitchens. bug hotels, bean-tepees and plenty of room to play outdoors are the best possible way for them to learn.

We’re full of ideas and we’re happy to share because that’s how ideas grow.

LIVING, LOVING and LEARNING to Protect the Environment

Learning and creativity shouldn't stop with childhood....

We firmly believe that the secret to staying young is to carry on learning and creating. The experience of camping in a beautiful environment is a great way to learn how best to care for it.

We encourage and support continuing education and learning through camping workshops and events that teach or showcase countryside skills, crafts, sustainable technologies, health and well-being. Anything that encourages living and creating what we need naturally, is perfect.

Sustainable and environmentally sensitive camping shelters can be fun, creative and wonderful places to stay for a while. From tents, through caravans to camper vans and anything else you can think of, we’re happy to support innovation.

We can help you make your ideas happen.

OUR CAMPING AND CARAVAN EXEMPTION CERTIFICATES

Sanctuary Camping Club are extremely proud to have been issued Camping and Caravan Exemption Certificates, paragraphs 4, 5 and 6 by Natural England.

The idea is to ‘…encourage and promote the recreational use of the countryside’.

Natural England exists to protect our environment so we take our responsibility very seriously when we issue certificates.

All we ask is that you respect both Natural England’s guidelines and ours when you become a member of the Sanctuary Camping Club.

The Sanctuary Camping Club is an Unincorporated Association. Our full Constitution and Code of Conduct can be found here and a shorter outline version can be found here.
